This worm/caterpillar was found in a tree in South Texas around Edinburgh.  I took a still picture but it was completely invisible. As you can see at right.

Terry Smith playing in the back . . . Well that’s just one of those lucky moments!

but it kinda adds to it. . . .don’t ya think!

A highlight of Sunday’s pre-race festivities was the low altitude pair of World War II SNJ Marine Trainer planes, piloted by eight-time Reno winner Eddie Van

Fossen and Al Gross, that followed the National Anthem, sang by the wife of Top Fuel owner Frank “Rootbeer” Hedge.  Ruthi sang the “Star Spangled Banner” during Sunday’s pre-race ceremony.

Here is how Ruthi describes the experience:

“Imagine stepping into the tower to check Sunday morning and there on the television was the news

report that we were invading Afghanistan at that moment and in ten minutes I would be singing our National Anthem, words cannot express how I felt or what that meant to me

. . .

 The crowd was in tears.”
